Q: What percentage of your time would you say you spend managing your firm and working on your firm versus taking in new cases and actually being in the one in the courtroom? What went into that decision to change that?
A: I haven’t been to court since August. I have one case left that final orders were going to be entered on Tuesday. It’s probably going to be the last time in my life I go to court. I don’t really need to go but I want to because I haven’t been there for a while.
A: want to be clear I’m not applauding because I completely respect the fact that for some of you I know you want to go to court and that’s fine. When we say to fire yourself as the associate it doesn’t mean you don’t get to do the work of the associate whenever you want to do the work of the associate, what it means is that when you are doing the work of the associate it’s by choice not by drudgery.
