Last June I attended the policies and procedures workshop in North Carolina with RJon Robins of How to Manage a Small Law Firm. We had vetted an enormous number of internal policies, external policies and procedures. We walked away at the end of the weekend with a handful of key administrative policies and procedures that we could take back tweak and implement in our firms. As a result, we finally put together a policies and procedures manual. The outcome of this has been a phenomenal response from my staff who greatly appreciate having predictability and efficiency. It has made a major change for our firm for the better. I feel 30 or 40 less questions every week which has resulted in my ability to spend more time doing the things that matter the most to my law firm such as marketing and legal services.
