Q: You said something that really resonated with me and I’m defrauding my business. I’ve been thinking how I’m going to sit down with my staff and say, _I’ve sucked at being a boss and a business owner and I need to change. I want you to work with me._ For all those who are starting the journey, where is the starting point and what are the right words to say to sit down with a team who’s going to help you become a better business?
A: That’s a great question. I would highly recommend that before you have that conversation with your staff you develop your business plan. You’re about to start your twelve-week crash course and at the end of that twelve-week crash course you’re going to have the first draft of your business plan done. A plan that describes how your business is supposed to function. Then you sit down with your staff and you say, _I have a plan that I want to ask you to join me in implementing._ Versus, _I suck as a boss and I’d like you to wander around the desert with me and hope we end up somewhere._ Go to them with a plan.
