Q: My question is about risk. I understand as an entrepreneur you have to embrace risk in the pursuit of profit but I also understand that if you engage that from an unhealthy place, you have things like you’re reckless or you’re addicted from what you said and I didn’t know if you had anything that you’ve observed in your business or in other businesses where you feel like people have blind spots or a mirage that leads them astray where they believe they’re on the right track to embrace risk in a strategic intelligent way but there’s something going on that’s interfering with them doing that in reality.
A: Yes. When they refuse to put their plans in writing. When they refuse to share their plans with their advisors. When they refuse to put measurable metrics against their plans so we know if their plans are working or are not going to work. When they evade the question, _how do we know if this is going to work?_ When we ask them questions about the hypothesis behind which their plans are based and we get bullshit after bullshit but they still insist on doing it. Then that person is probably just gambling if that’s happening over and over again then they could just be addicted to pain or risk.
