Q: Following up on that question, there’s a family member I absolutely have to cacoon myself from. How can I kindly do that but still preserve that relationship long term?
A: You can be busy, “Oh, I’m busy.” At some point they’re going to get the gist of it. But you should justt make yourself busy. You kind of start spacing out and you see them for less amount of time. For example, instead of going for a week vacation you have them over for dinner. You should set yourself out and say “I don’t really have to listen to this person. I’m just going to have dinner because it’s the right thing to do.”
