Q: I have spent many years; I’m thinking at least since the age of about seven when my parents got divorced, not wanting anything and making a conscious decision to be content with whatever bullshit I had. Now I don’t know how to want things because I’m afraid to be disappointed and how to not be content. I’m afraid to be discontent. I’m afraid to be unsatisfied.
A: There’s a difference between being ambitious and inspired, and discontent and unsatisfied. I’m going to use a car for example. A person who is driving a car that they dislike and every time they’re in the car they’re like _this thing is piece of shit._ It makes them unhappy, uncomfortable, and embarrassed every time they have to drive that thing. They want a better car to replace something they’re discontent and unsatisfied with. Another person driving the same car says _I don’t get my love from the car or what people say about my car. I don’t get my self-esteem from the car or what other people say about the car. I don’t get my security from the car or what other people say about the car. It’s just a car. It’s okay. I’d really like to have a better car._ One person operating is from a place of lack and poverty mindset and discontent. That’s who they are being every time they’re in that car and the ways they’re going to think of how to get a better car are going to be from a place of lack and poverty and frustration and anger and discontent. A person who comes from a place of abundance, prosperity, love, and generosity they’re driving a car that they don’t like driving and they get a better car because they want a better car. And the ways they’re going to find to get a better car are always going to come from those places of love, generosity, and prosperity. You can be content and want more.
