Q: I have a practice area question. I do criminal defense and immigration. I’m a trial lawyer, but I have found that in listening to all of the ideas as far as estate planning goes, estate planning just seems like an area of law that’s far more conducive to a predictable flow of clients versus my criminal defense and immigration practice. So I’m just wondering if estate planning would be a good practice area to implement or to even just scrap criminal defense and immigration and go with estate planning.
A: If you could make the same amount of money by dropping three areas, which area would you drop first?
Q: Immigration
A: Good, then you should drop immigration and only do criminal defense. You’ll make a lot more money, much faster, if you would drop immigration and only focus on criminal defense. The only estate planning attorney who have a steady, predictable flow of clients are the attorneys who build the marketing machine and that’s why they get a steady flow of clients.
