Q: For businesses that are interested in testing more of the internal processes or starting more testing for anything they are doing in their business, how would you recommend for them to start enacting these practices and habits of testing their systems.
A: You have to impose. Testing is another system. You have to design it; you have to inform the people. You will also have to test your testing, because, for example, I thought that I was the magic woman testing and yesterday I discovered that I’m not: three major mistakes happened that I didn’t account for. In that, you are going to have to create a system of testing which is basically going through every step of the system and writing down: how do I know if this happened or if this didn’t happen? And if it didn’t happen, what do I need to do to fix it? And if it did happen, did it happen like it needed to happen? Once you do a few of those and then revise the data, you will see the natural rhythm of that system, but you will have to do that a few times to discover that pattern.
